STORAGE
Acetylene is stored in liquid phase as dissolved in Acetone in pressurized tubes which are appropriate to TS 11170 Sheet-1 and 2.
FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD DATA
Must be extinguished by using carbon dioxide or high-MAP dry chemical agents. There may be the danger of explosion if tubes will heat, so tubes which are exposed to fire should be cooled slowly by spraying small amount water. If possible, they should be left to cool their case.
HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
Hazardous vapors and gases may be released during welding operations, so area must be ventilated enough. If there is an exposure to a hazardous gas concentration that prevents respiratory, dizziness, drowsiness, unconsciousness and drowning may occur.
METHODS OF EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID
Person should be removed to fresh air immediately. If he is unconscious or is having difficulty in breathing, artificial respiration should be given by humid oxygen and person should be taken urgently to the nearest health facility.
